Partner Reading
This week I completed Reading assessments while students read with their Reading Partners to practice helping each other sound great while reading. Partners worked on giving feedback and reminding each other to try different strategies when reading tricky words, fixing their mistakes, and reading again fluently.

Acrostic Name Poem
Students completed their own acrostic name poems and created a fun cloud and rainbow display to present their work.
We also took time this week to think about everything we've done and learned during Term 2 and how much they've grown since the beginning of the school year. To help the students prepare for the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences, they completed a writing task, including:
- something they enjoy about school
- something they are doing well
- something they want to continue practicingg
- one goal for Term 3
Math
Numbers to 40
Our Math focus this week was finding missing numbers in number patterns using numbers to 40. Students used a number line and number chart to help with this concept. They are also using what they've learned about addition and subtraction to complete number patterns.
Missing Number Patterns
Examples:
+2 pattern --> 21 __ 25 27 29 31
+5 pattern --> 15 20 __ 30 35 __
-3 pattern --> 39 36 33 30 __ 24
-1 pattern --> __ 37 36 __ 34 33
When we return from Spring Break, students will begin working on addition facts to 40.

Life Long Ago and Today
This week we completed our unit all about life long ago and today. We read a story about a 99 year old man named Mister Bob. We learned about the changes in transportation and created a timeline of Mister Bob's life. To end the week we completed a Venn Diagram to compare life today and long ago and review what the students learned during the unit.
