In ELA children practiced the format of persuasive writing by trying to convince their friends to follow on on the school rules. They stated their opinion and gave supporting reasons and then restated their opinion in a new way to close their paragraph. In Grammar we looked at linking verbs. Everyone took a turn to make sentences with these little but sometimes confusing verbs. In reading children worked with their partners to practice getting reading speed and pausing correct. Each student also did a reading comprehension on a book of their choice and the did an oral presentation to their class trying to convince their peers to read the book.
