We began our week with a visit from a scientist, Mr. Vit. He worked in robotics and is currently doing brain science research with mice to learn more about how the human brain works and how this understanding can help make better robots.
We started our next Math unit - Mental Math Strategies. Using number bonds, making a group of ten, using fact families and doubles facts are all ways to move from counting on fingers. We also practiced these strategies with some fun Math games.
Our Mystery Reader this week was Harper's Grandmother and Grandmother. They read Jenna the Trouble Maker. Thanks to our Mystery readers for sharing two new stories with us.
On Friday students had the chance to show their families what we have been investigating at school. Students were proud to demonstrate three investigations and have their families join in on the exploration. Thank you very much to all those who came to the Science/Art Fair. We hoped you enjoyed the afternoon with your child.
