Welcome to G1B for this academic year! My name is Mr. Hassey and I will be the G1B teacher for this year. I'm from Australia and have been teaching for over 11 years now, starting in small country schools in the Hunter Valley, public and private schools in Sydney and an international school in Osaka. This is my third year at UST and I'm already familiar with some of our students coming into grade 1 from K3. I bring with me a passion for books and reading and am more than happy to recommend books for your child to read.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for their first day of school. On Monday your child will need to be in school uniform and bring their school bag with:
- Their water bottle with a strap to put over their shoulder.
- Their snack.
- Their lunch (unless they are ordering school lunch.)
- Eating utensils.
- A hat (for if we need to go outside.)
- A washcloth to dry their hands with.
- Inside shoes.
Everything should have your child's name on it, including their uniform! Doors open at 8:15 and your child will need to be at school by 8:25 am. If they arrive at school later than 8:30 they will be marked as late. Should you have any questions about school now or anytime throughout this year, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
