This week the students were all reassessed on RazzKids. A lot of the time was spent performing assessments. This week the students also finished their unit on different types of characters. They all created a piece that included a head of a character that opened up to display the thoughts and feelings a character might have. The also spent sometime this week comparing and contrasting a character to themselves.
I have not finished reviewing all the Razz kids assessments; once I do I can open more levels if needed.
Math:
This week in math we finished out unit on addition and subtraction under 20. The students all performed an assessment this week that seemed to go well. We will start a new concept next week.
Science:
This week the student focused on different types of soil and how they differ from each other. We performed an experiment this week were the students investigated how much water could get through different types of soil. Together we measured water and filtered it through different types of soil. The students made predictions about which soil would let the most water through and which soil would allow the least amount of water through. They recorded their findings on a investigation sheet that they all made by themselves.
Social studies:
We are learning about both culture and bodies of water. This week for show and tell we had the students share something related to their favorite body of water. The students were delighted to have Amalia`s mother come in and share about a lake in Italy.
For culture, I am sending home an interview that the students will conduct with a family member of their choice. It is due next Thursday.
Have a great weekend!!!
