This week in ELA we focused more on creative writing. The students were randomly given individual prompts that inspired their own unique and creative pieces. For example, the students were asked what they would do if they had a time machine. Or, what they would do if they discovered their own planet.
The stories they created were very interesting!
All the students were also retested for new reading levels. They spent a large amount of time being assessed this week. Additionally, the spent sometime answering comprehension questions
Social Studies and Science:
We continued to look at the difference between past and present. The students selected one piece of technology and compared it to how it was different in the past. For example, the students drew and old television from the 60`s and compared it to a television now. We are moving on to the final unit in both books next week.
Math: The students had a lot of cumulative reviews and completed a cumulative test today. We are starting to wrap up all the content from this year.
Other news:
Please look through your house to see if you can find any books that belong to the school that have not been issued to your student. These are books that usually have a label or a level on them.
Also, please do not allow your child to bring unnecessary items to school. The fidget spinners have started to become a bit a of a distraction.
