For reading, all of the students individually compared a fiction and non fiction book with a similar topic; for example, the 3 Bears story compared to a non fiction book about bears. They were asked to read both and then compare and contrast the differences.
Math:
This week in math we continued to focus on addition and subtraction of two digit number, however, the focus was on mental math. Meaning they attempted to solve the problems in their heads and through word problems.
Science and Social Studies:
This week in science we focused on weather and seasons. This is a familiar topic for most of the students but they seemed to enjoy revisiting the topic. They also had the chance to discuss their individual studies on scientists.
This week we had our Earth Day assembly. The children were able to present our class project about orangutangs. We will have a donation box that will be available at sports day if you would like to donate money so that we may be able to adopt a part of a rainforest in Borneo.
There is a problem uploading pictures at the moment. I will upload new photos on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
