Welcome to a wonderful year of first grade at UST! I hope you had a great summer holiday! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Allison McAfee and I will be the G1A homeroom teacher for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. This will be my third year in Tokyo, Japan as well as my third year teaching at UST. I moved to Japan August 2017 from Ohio. Before moving to Japan, I taught first grade for four years.
I am excited to continue being part of the community at United School of Tokyo and overjoyed to be your child’s first grade teacher this year! My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where your child can explore, learn, and grow!

As we prepare for the school year, it will be important for you to label any items coming to school from home, such as your child’s clothing (tags), water bottle, lunch box, snack box, and restroom towel. We will also be taking trips to the park, so please send mosquito spray, a hat, and sunscreen to school as well.
