Dramatizing Characters and Deepening our Comprehension
During reading this week we paid close attention to the patterns in character's behavior and after recognizing patterns in behavior, we talked about what we thought would happen next in the story. Students also worked together this week to compare and contrast characters in different books to better understand the events and character behavior.

- A map is a flat drawing of a place.
- What symbols are on a map?
- Symbols are pictures that stand for objects.
- What is a map key?
- A map key helps you read a map and shows each symbol on the map. Each symbol has a name.
- What does a compass rose show?
- You can use a compass rose to find directions on a map.
- N - North
- S - South
- E - East
- W - West
- You can use a compass rose to find directions on a map.
