Investigation 1 - Making Sound
Focus Question: What causes sounds?
Materials:
- Tuning fork with a cup of water and a wooden block
- A book fiddle made with a hardcover book, a plastic cup, and 2 rubber bands
- Craft stick
Investigation 2 - Hearing Sound
Focus Question: What kinds of sounds are easy to identify?
Materials:
- Drop chamber
- Drop objects: metal washer, wooden clothespin, plastic chip, craft stick, plastic spoon, ball of aluminum foil, paper cup, piece of cardboard
A scientist also came to UST this week to teach G1 students more about being a scientist and how the brain works.
