Small Moment Stories
Overall: I wrote about when I did something.
Lead: I tried to make a beginning for my story.
Transitions: I put my pages in order. I used words such as first, then, next.
Ending: I found a way to end my story.
Organization: I wrote my story across three or more pages.
We also started talking about different ways to bring our stories to life. The first way is to unfreeze the people/characters in our stories by making them move and talk. Students were encouraged to draw pictures that help them start the story well by drawing actions, using movement lines, and using speech bubbles, then including those details in their writing.

Why do schools have rules?
This week our class played a game without rules and the students shared how it made them feel (frustrated, confused, sad), then we played a game with rules and discussed why it is important have rules and how rules can help us.
Who works at your school?
The class was also introduced to a new social studies question, "Who works in your school?" We made a list of grown-ups at UST that help the students. This includes office staff, homeroom teachers, specialist teachers (art, music, P.E., guidance), bus drivers, bus monitors, and more! Students drew pictures of people that help them at school and talked about how they help.
Social Studies Vocabulary
- Job: A job is a task or work that someone does. Each job needs special skills.
- Income: People earn income, or money, when they work. (Why is it important to earn income?)
