For this question we would separate the ones and tens (so 6 + 6 and 50 + 30). We can then see we can use a double to solve the ones (6 + 6 = 12). We would then need to add this ten to the top of the tens column then add it up!

Reading.
We then look at folk tales and how they can teach us about the country and animals that they are about. We looked at, 'Tiddalick the greedy frog' and learned about the water holding frog of the deserts as well as, 'Emu and the water tree' and learned why they emu cannot fly (according to the Koori!)
Science.
We planted two of our plants this week as much of our unit is about watching them grow and comparing them when they are fully grown. As we only have about 3 weeks left, we needed to get a move on!
