Mathematics.

First the students identify which number is the largest and start from there and make 3 jumps from there.

We also looked at solving addition stories and the steps the students would need to show. This is key for maths assessments as the students will need to show their working out to score highly!
Writing.
1. Use your sounds (spelling phonetically.)
2. Check the word wall/class walls.
3. Ask your friends.
4. Use a dictionary (We have started to learn how to use them correctly.)
5. IF ALL ELSE FAILS - Ask Mr. Hassey.
I am hoping that this will encourage the students to be more independent when writing and reduce their dependance on teacher instruction to solve problems.
